1922 - 2013 Obituary Condolences
TORRINGTON >> Rev. Stefan Gulyas, 90, of Torrington, followed the light towards heaven on Tuesday, April 9, 2013. Rev. Gulyas was born on June 4, 1922, in Homorod Szent Marton, Romania, son of the late Istvan and Katherine (Turi) Gulyas.
Called to serve, he was a missionary for the First Assembly of God in Eastern Europe for over 40 years, and assisted in building over 100 churches. He also authored two books.
He is survived by one sister, Matilda Borsos of Mesa, Arizona, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Benjamin, and Joseph, and four sisters, Pricilla, Helen, Mary and Maria.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 20, at 11 a.m. at the First Assembly of God, 387 New Harwinton Road, Torrington. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Relatives and friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Cook Funeral Home.
