Bruce B. Kane, 65, of Torrington, husband of Catherine (Scott) Kane passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at Mass General Hospital, Boston. Bruce was born in Beaver Falls, PA on June 19, 1948 and was a son of Helen Jane (Hugus) Kane and the late Peter Kane. He lived in Torrington for the past 30 years and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Bristol. In 2008 Mr. Kane retired from his business Butler Record Research. Previous to that he had been an English and History teacher, an EMT instructor, and a volunteer fire fighter. Mr. Kane enjoyed model trains, building military figures, and reading. He was a history enthusiast and was fan of the Torrington Titans Baseball team. He was very proud of his Scottish heritage and enjoyed organizing the St. Andrew's Bagpipe competitions. Besides his wife and mother, Mr. Kane is survived by his son; Jonathan Kane of Waterbury; a brother David Kane of Pittsburgh, and two nephews. He was a devoted husband and father and he will be greatly missed by many. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2013, 11 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 154 Meadow St., Bristol. Burial will be on Thursday, August 22, 2013, 1 P.M in Unity Cemetery, Latrobe, PA.
