TORRINGTON >> Daniel D. Gardner, IV, 30, of Torrington, passed away on Friday, Sept. 6, 2013 at the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.
He is survived by wife Lauren Gardner, a son Daniel R. Gardner, his mother Catherine G. Matthews, a sister Caitlin M. Gardner and his father Daniel D. Gardner III. He is also survived by his step-father, Brian J. Matthews and step-brother Jonathan D. Matthews.
He attended Simsbury schools and graduated from Kenton Central High School in Park Hills Kentucky. Daniel was active in the automobile marketing field, repeatedly achieving high sales volume awards and top salesman awards at both Torrington Honda and Hoffman Honda in Simsbury. He was an avid skier, snowboarder and had a keen interest in car restoration and music. Dan was always willing to help others, even strangers and was devoted to his family.
Calling hours will be held today, Tuesday, Sept. 10 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike (Route 44) in Canton. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Sept. 11, 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Saint Ann, 289 Arch Road in Avon. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Daniel R. Gardner, C/O Patricia Brennan, 1140 Torringford Street, Torrington CT 06790 for his future college fund.
