TORRINGTON >> Arthur Deming, 84, of Torrington, CT passed away Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Paradigm Health Center. He was the husband of Jean (Juralewicz) Deming. Arthur was born in Torrington, on Feb. 26, 1929, a son of the late Ruth (Soule) and Arthur Deming Sr. and served in the US Army.
He worked as an electronic technician at The Torrington Company for 45 years. He served as Civil Preparedness Director in Torrington from 1991-2006, and was a member of the C Q Radio Club, and Sky-Warn Weather Spotters.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a son Arthur Deming and wife Sharon of Rocky Mountain, North Carolina and grandchildren Chris and wife Jennifer Deming, and Casey and wife Jessie Deming, great-grandchildren William, Hannah, Joshua, and Noah. He also leaves a brother Clayton and wife Ruth Deming of Torrington and sister Olive Ferry of Plymouth, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday Sept. 30 10:30 a.m. at Saint Francis Church, with burial following at new Saint Francis Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday, Sept. 29 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Phalen Funeral Home, 285 Migeon Ave., Torrington. http://www.phalenfuneral.com/
