CANTON >> Raymond R. Cuatto, Sr., 87, of Canton, beloved husband of Agnes (Rubino) Cuatto, died Friday, Oct. 4, 2013 at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington after a brief illness. He was born June 12, 1926 in Torrington, son of the late Victor and Livia (Barella) Cuatto, and had lived in Torrington and Avon prior to moving to Canton eight years ago.
Mr. Cuatto was a Production Control Manager at the Torrington Company in Torrington for 45 years prior to his retirement in 1988. Raymond was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Collinsville and was a former member of St. Peter's Church in Torrington, serving as a Eucharistic Minister at both churches, and was a member of the Choir at both churches for over 50 years. He also served on the Human Needs Committee at St. Patrick's Church. He was a member of the Torrington Elks Club and the Knights of Columbus Unity Council #37, also in Torrington. Ray enjoyed golfing, cross country skiing and traveling, both in the States and abroad, with family and friends.
Besides his loving wife of 65 years, he is survived by his son, Raymond R. Cuatto, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth M. Cristofaro of Burlington; his daughter, Jan Brennan and her husband Leo F. Brennan, Jr. of Avon; six grandchildren, Michael Brennan, Matthew Brennan and his wife Jeannie, Kyle Brennan, Kelly Brennan, Tina Cuatto and Andrew Cuatto; his brother, Felix Cuatto of Torrington and several nieces.
Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton on Sunday, Oct. 6, from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, Oct. 7 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church in Collinsville. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery in Torrington. Memorial donations may be made to St. Patrick's Haiti Ministry, 50 Church Street, Collinsville, CT 06019.
