SULLIVAN, JAMES J. James J. Sullivan, 80, of Kingston, PA, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2014, at Celebration Hospital in Celebration, Florida. Born February 5, 1934 in Torrington, Connecticut, he was the son of the late Teresa (Sweeney) and James Sullivan. He graduated from Torrington High School. James served in the US Navy aboard the USS Sarasota during the Korean War. After the Navy, he graduated from New England Technology in Hartford, CT. James was employed for many years with General Electric. He worked in various GE locations throughout his career including Syracuse, NY, Omaha, Nebraska (working with the Strategic Air Command) and in Cocoa Beach, Florida (with Mission Control Operations at Cape Canaveral ). He subsequently was employed with Racal - Milgo as a Technical Analyst. Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was his sister, Betty. Surviving is his wife of 55 years, the former Betty Van Duzer, son, James, East Syracuse, NY, daughter Patty and her husband, John MacKenzie, Hackettstown, NJ, son, Matthew, Kingston, Pa, son, John L, Kissimmee, FL, grandsons, John and Stephen MacKenzie, nephew, James Mogob, Torrington, CT, nieces Joyce Greenlaw, Wallingford, CT, Kathy Procinsco, Torrington, CT and other grand - nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. from the Maher-Collins Funeral Home, 360 North Maple Avenue, Kingston. Entombment will be in Mary Mother of God Mausoleum at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call Friday from 5 - 7 p.m. Condolences can be sent to the family at: www.maher-collins.com.
