ORTMAN, EDWIN MARTIN WINSTED – Edwin Martin Ortman, died peacefully on Thursday, March 6, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was born on January 17, 1934 in Bristol, CT to the late Martin and Emilie Ortman. He was the husband of Mildred Hamm Ortman for 56 years. Edwin worked for many years for the Gilbert Clock Company as Treasurer and later for Seth Thomas Clock. When he wasn’t working or spending time with his family, he liked to paint. In addition to his wife, Mildred, he is survived by his four children, Candee Palmer, Debbie (Marcel) Baril, Dori McCarthy and Edward (Melissa) Ortman; 8 grandchildren, Chris Palmer, Becky (Don) Collins, Ashley, Ryan and Lexi Baril, Quinlan McCarthy, Olivia and Emilie Ortman; and two great-grandchildren, Jennifer and Zachary Collins. Edwin was predeceased by brothers, Casey, George and Walter Siel. Friends may call on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted from 2 – 4 PM with a funeral service at 4 PM.
