In Loving Memory of
1935 - 2012
Dedicated wife, loving mother, sister and friend to so many, Delores went to be with the Lord on October 23, 2012. Delores was born December 09, 1935 in Lebanon, Oregon and grew up in the Albany and Scio area.
Delores began working as a telephone operator at Pacific Bell in Albany in the 50s. She married Joseph Light in Scio on June 10, 1956 and they moved to Eugene in 1961. She was a homemaker and raised three kids: Mike, Steve and Leesa in the home she and Joseph built in the Ferry Street Bridge area.
Mom saw God's existence and beauty in His creation and the natural surroundings. She loved camping and exploring Oregon, the United States and parts of the world with her family.
As an artist and art teacher mom recreated on canvas the beauty she saw in the form of landscapes, seascapes and still lifes. She was an amazing artist. Her legacy continues in these works of art and the love that continues to grow in her children and grandchildren. And yes there is an artist or two. She was a passionate, caring person and looked for the inner beauty in others.
We want to thank so many people that came into contact with mom in her later years and the care you provided and so many shared smiles.
The Light Family.

I was honored to meet with you, share Scripture and pray. You told me as I left to come back when you were more yourself. The next time I see you, you will be. Pr Jim Kegel, Central Lutheran Church

Delores was a wonderful person. While in High School she was like a second Mom and always had a open home and welcoming touch. Many great memories of camping and sleepovers! Our love to you Leesa, Mike, and Steve and my thoughts and prayers are with you and with Joe...I am so sorry for your loss.
