Lura 'Ethel' (Howe) Joyner
1915 - 2013
Ethel was born December 23, 1915 in Guymon, Oklahoma. She passed away January 8, 2013 in Salem Oregon
She spent early childhood at Alva, Oklahoma; finished high school at Quay, Oklahoma; other education was through the Berean School of the Bible, Springfield, Missouri.
She was a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution and The Daughters of Union Veterans.
She was married to Durwood "Tarb" Joyner who preceded her in death. She is survived by three children: Ray Joyner, Lee Joyner and Joan Malcom, all residents of Oregon; also eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
Her last 10 years she lived at The Springs Retirement Center at Sunnyview and The Woods, Assisted Living Center, both in Salem. The care she received made her last years very comfortable.

I remember Mrs. Joyner as a strong, no-nonsense, deeply religious person who expected the best of herself, her family and those around her. I was fortunate as a child and adolescent to know her as a positive role model. My deepest sympathies to her family.
