The final curtain came down on the "Play of Life" for Martha L. Wehmeier on January 8, 2013. She fought the good fight, but lost the battle to her nemesis-cancer.
Living with the memory of her life, that she shared so lovingly and freely, is a long list of actors and actresses- including her leading man, Barry A. Rodgers. Heading the list of Best Supporting actors and actresses are her mother, Dorothy Wehmeier; sister, Kathy Bradford; and brother, Steve Wehmeier.
There are, of course, a long list of character actors that made her life so special. All of us shall remember Martha's wonderful smile and child-like laughter.
Her life well deserved a standing ovation from all who loved her.
Thankfully the strike was short and swift and I know the cast party will be long and joyful.
A remembrance/potluck will be held at the Bradford's residence, February 23rd, 2013 at 1:00 pm. For details please call 541-689-0756.

I only learned of Marti's death today. I am so saddened that I won't be seeing her in this world. She was one of my dearest friends in High School, and yes a wonderful inspiring actress and cook!

I played the saxophone with Martha @ NEHS (along with John Roupe). She was so good I never complained where I sat :)
Peace,

From what I read and see, I wish I had known Martha. But because I do know and respect you, Steve, I wish you and all of her friends and family strength as you deal with her loss. What a wonderfully clever theatrical way you had of remembering her! I'm sure she would have liked that.

I had the pleasure of working with Martha in several plays and musicals in high school. She was an inspiration and definitely a class act. She will be missed so very much. May she rest in peace.

Martha and I were best friends in high school, so there are lots of great memories. The first Earth Day occurred in our junior year...on Martha's birthday, so every Earth Day since, I've of course thought of Martha and always will. In loving memory,

From grade school through high school and numerous theater productions, I have so many memories of Martha. She was one of my closest friends in school, as she was with many many others. I am glad I had the opportunity to visit on one of my trips to Oregon. I will miss her.

I was very sad when Steve told me on New Year's Day that Martha was about to leave this world. Years ago Martha was a wonderful actor in my play, "Open House," which was performed at the Collier House on the UO campus and later in contests in Portland. I felt very privileged to benefit from her intelligent contributions and luminous portrayal. I treasure her memory.
