I didn't know Michael at all but I just read his obit and wanted to say that I'm sorry for your loss to the family and friends. He is now at home and may God bless the hearts that are hurting as a result of his passing. Michael will be with you in spirit at all times. Prayers are being lifted, may you be able to find some kind of comfort.

I didn't know Mike well, but you didn't have to know him well to recognize that he was passionate about serving mankind. His service, which went well beyond just his time in the military, defined his life and served as an inspiration to everyone who knew him. Rest in peace, brother.

You touched so many lives and you were an amazing friend to so many people!! No matter who or what it was you would do anything to help a friend out. You had so much love to give and you were always giving it out and I am blessed to say that I got to receive some of it. I'll miss your hugs that would always brighten my day but I will remember you forever and ever and I can't wait to see you again and get one of those famous Mike hugs. The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Michael Thomas Mason our “Brother-in-Arms”. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Michael. And to Michael it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedoms while serving in the U.S. Army. Michael, you served with honor and distinction; we bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the 1,261 members of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Michael's family and loved ones.
