Williams, Carroll Wayne "Cal"  
Carroll (Cal) Wayne Williams passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 10, 2014, at the age of 86. A Celebration of His Life will be held sometime after the first of the year. He is survived by his wife Cherrill Hemminger (Williams); his daughters Janice Smith, Cynda Webb, Kimmie Stinemetz, Tina Williams, and Tonya Peacock; his sons Korey Williams, Joel Williams, and Jonny. He is also survived by a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his younger brother - Jim and his older sister - Gwenn. Carroll lived in Oregon for most of his life, most recently in Springfield; he was born in Susanville, California and spent his childhood in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. He worked for the University of Oregon in the Athletic Department for a number of years; he also worked for Lane County; in the years prior to his retirement in 1993, he was self-employed. Carroll was loved and will be missed by all. Anyone wishing to make a donation in his memory, please consider Meals on Wheels or Food for Lane County.

Witham, Patrick E. "Pat"  
Patrick E. Witham, 72, of Newport, formerly of Eugene passed away December 6, 2014 of lung disease. Pat was born July 14, 1942 in Eugene to Francis H. & Billie L. (Bunch) Witham. He lived most of his life in Eugene. Pat & Cherrill Oglesby were married in Cottage Grove on 4-4-64. Their only child, Shana, was born in Eugene in August 1965. After high school graduation, Pat enlisted in the US Navy and was stationed in Texas. Always passionate about horses, in his 20's Pat rode horses bareback in small local rodeos. Pat was a diverse man ? he owned his own trucking business doing long haul then later hauling logs. He moved to Newport in the 1990's, later buying the business "The Barge Inn" a longtime Newport Bay landmark. Pat was a member of American Legion, Eagles and a longtime Elks member. Pat wasn't much of a talker the last couple of years but more than made up for it in the first 70! He was always very grateful for many wonderful family and friends. Pat is survived by Cherrill Witham, of Eugene, daughter Shana Witham, grandson Skyler Witham both of Eugene, his sister Rosanne Smith of Whitney, Texas and 4 nephews. Pat was preceded in death by his parents, brother Leslie Witham and nephew William (Bill) Witham. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Newport Elks Lodge on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 2 PM. A donation to a charity of choice may be made in his honor.
