Potter, Jacque Lorraine (Mode)
Jacque Lorraine (Mode) Potter July 30, 2015- The loss of Jacque Potter may pain those that she left behind, but her happy life is testament to the unwavering power of true love... Jacque was born on November 17, 1952 in Cottage Grove, Oregon to Bunny and Dale Mode. Growing up in Roseburg then moving during her teen years, her family set roots in Junction City. She graduated with honors in 1971 from Junction City High School where she had a passion for reading and was active in journalism including editor responsibilities. Jacque studied Business Administration at Oregon State University, moving to Gardiner, Oregon after she graduated in 1975. She joined the workforce at International Paper Company, where she would head the accounting team with her outstanding organization and eye for detail. Her heart would never be the same, as IP would be where she met and later married her soul mate and lifelong love, James Henry Potter. Like one of the great romance novels, he swept her off her feet and they enjoyed over 36 years of laughter, travel and companionship. They shared a love of the great outdoors, camping, fishing, and hunting, rock hounding and raising their beloved bird dogs. Always active and giving back to their hometown community of Reedsport, Oregon with Ducks Unlimited, the Gardiner Literary Club, S.T.E.P., Madison Scholarship Foundation, Reedsport Library Board, City Budget Committee, ASPIRE program at RHS, and many others as her hand was always helpful and her heart was always true. Jacque was preceded in death, by her darling husband Jim Potter on December 9, 2014. She is survived by her mother and father; sister Debbie Mode and her husband, Terry Fields; brother Jerry Mode and his wife Debbie; daughters Kelley Kristensen and Holly Potter-Grimes; three nieces and their families; and her most cherished dog Abby. Jacque and Jim's hearts seemed only to part for a moment, but their soul connection was far too strong to be diminished by time or space? May they dance forever in Heaven. A joint service, for Jacque and Jim, will be held at the Roseburg National Cemetery on September 11 at 1pm.
