Giles, Sally  
Sally S. Giles 1930 - 2015 Sally Giles died peacefully, August 7th with her family at her side. She was born to Perry H. and Henrietta Smith on March 28, 1930. Her career as an elementary educator included teaching in Spain and Italy. She traveled widely, was well read, and was an accomplished pianist. She is survived by her sons; Kevin and Alex, sisters; Betty and Wendy, brother; Anton, granddaughter; Tanya, great grandson; Brendan and many nieces and nephews. She is greatly missed by all. Gilzow, Phillip  
May 31, 1942 - August 17, 2015 Phillip Gilzow was born May 31, 1942 to Wallace and Lorraine Gilzow in Eugene Oregon. He graduated from Willamette High School in 1960 and served in the US Navy from 1960-1966. He married Ilona Goodman on June 20, 1964. They lived and worked in Eugene until 1990 when they moved to Vancouver, Washington. Together, they had three children, Tamara Gilzow Moar (Christopher Moar), Kenneth Gilzow (Sheila Luck), and Michael Gilzow (Shannon Rodgers). Grandchildren Alicia, Michael, Austin, Iain, Olivia, Kiana, Kailin, and great-grandchildren Riley, Cohen, and Byren. Phillip was a freight truck driver for many years with I-5 Freightlines and Roadway Express. After retiring from the freight business he became a city bus driver for C-Tran in Vancouver. Phillip and Ilona were active in square dancing (Eugene and Vancouver clubs), dog owners, and backyard gardening for many years. Phillip also enjoyed talking and sharing with anyone especially his children and grandchildren. Phillip is survived by his sister Carolyn Thom and preceded in death by his brother Danny Gilzow. A memorial service will be held on Sunday August 23 at 1 pm at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church at 12513 SE Mill Plain Blvd., Vancouver, WA 98684.

Harris, Sandra Louise  
Sandra Louise Harris Sandra Louise Harris of Pleasant Hill, Oregon, passed away August 16, 2015. Sandra was born June 3, 1953 in Paynesville, Minnesota to Marvin and Nora Milbrett. She married Bud Harris in 1971, in Swisshome, Oregon. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Sandra worked as a waitress in Dexter for many years and most recently as an in home health care provided in LaPine. Her passion was being outdoors mushroom picking, hunting, rock collecting and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include son, Rick Harris and wife Carolyn of Springfield, OR; daughters: Sherry Bryson and husband Matt of Pleasant Hill, OR; and Tina Kreger and husband Adam of Springfield, OR; seven grandsons: Brandon, Alec, Matthew, Niico, Tyler, Joshua, and Benjamin and great-grandson Noah. She is also survived by her mother Nora, brothers: Larry Milbrett, Brian Milbrett, Gerry Milbrett, Ro Milbrett and sisters: Loanne Hinderlie, Marcella Wilbur, Elsie Parham, LaVonne Rivera, Bonnie Burgin, Wendy Midbust, and Loretta Richardson. She was preceded in death by Bud Harris and her father and brother Marvin and Mike Milbrett.

Hinkley, Sherri  
Sherri Lynn Hinkley Sherri Lynn Stolsig Hinkley passed away after a brief illness on July 26, 2015, at McKenzie-Willamette Hospital in Springfield, Oregon. Sherri was born to Charles and Catherine Stolsig on September 22, 1956, in Eugene, Oregon. Sherri attended schools in Springfield, Astoria and Eugene. She graduated from Winston Churchill High School, earned two Associate Degrees from Lane Community College and attended the University of Oregon. Sherri enjoyed music, dance, horses and dogs. She raised, trained and showed quarter and Mustang horses. Sherri did retail window display work, dispatched for Eugene Sand and then entered her professional field of Dental Hygienist in Orthodontics. Sherri and Joseph Hinkley were married August 11, 1984, in Hood River, Oregon. Their Bouvier des Flandres dogs were their family, showing Internationally and earning Champion status in Canada and the U.S. They loved to travel including Canada, Hawaii, Mexico, Panama, Columbia, Costa Rica, United States and their house on the coast. She was a great cook and hostess and greatly enjoyed family gatherings. An avid reader, Clive Cussler was a favorite, and gardener. Sherri was one of her parent's best friends. Sherri is survived by her parents, husband, sister Terry D Journey (Garry) Crescent; brother Charles Jr (Shelie) Springfield; brother Cory (Susan ) Moses Lake, Washington; 8 nieces and nephews, 8 aunts and uncles, and 25 cousins. Sherri loved them all. We miss her dearly. Our family appreciated the care and support from ICU nurses Kris and Missy. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2015, at 1:00pm at the Sheldon Recreation Center, 2445 Willakenzie Road, Eugene, Oregon

Lake, Helen M.  
October 4, 1915 - August 25, 2015 The funeral for Helen M. Lake of Eugene, who passed away on August 25, 2015, will be held Saturday, August 29, 2015 at the Danebo Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. A viewing will be at the church from 2:30-3:45 PM, followed by the service at 4:00 PM. Helen was 99 years young, and passed away just 6 weeks short of her 100th birthday. She was born October 4, 1915 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Roy L. and Carol McDonough. She married Ralph B. Lake in Salt Lake, May 12, 1938. She graduated from East High School at age 16, and worked as a radio actress for KSL Radio, and also as a secretary until her marriage. Helen and Ralph moved to Eugene, Oregon January 1938, where two children were born to them, Carolyn (R. Conrad Schultz), and Ralph Bryant "Bry" (Leslie). Eugene was truly "home" for 77 years. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served faithfully in many Ward and Stake callings. She was a brilliant teacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and a sterling example of the righteous principles she taught. She served as a Girl Scout Leader and as PTA President at both Whiteaker Grade School and North Eugene High School. She became a distributor for the Neo-Life Company and served a large clientele throughout Oregon and other states. She earned many company awards for her competence in this field. Helen was multi-talented. She was a gifted speaker, painter (oils, pastels, water colors), interior decorator, teacher, gracious hostess, drama director, and musician. She played the piano by ear and was always willing to share these many talents. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren have all loved "marching" to her lively piano renditions. Into her 90's she went to many health care facilities to cheer the residents with "sing-alongs". She would often say, "If you can hum it, I can play it". She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 of her 4 siblings, her loving husband, and a baby grand-daughter (Lindsay Lake). She is survived by her 2 children, 10 grand-children, 34 great-grandchildren and a multitude of good friends. Bernard Eric Latimer December 23, 1969 - July 30, 2015 Born in San Mateo, CA, graduated of North Tahoe High School, University of Oregon, Beta Theta Chi, loved by his wife, sons, parents, sisters and so many dear friends and business associates. He is survived by his family Kari, his son Ben and William, parents Wally and Shirley, sisters Sandra Young and Susan Zmak. You are soulfully missed and beloved forever. We grow forward. Lewellyn, Michael Allen  
1942 - 2015 Michael Allen Lewellyn, known as Mike by his friends and family, died at age 73 on Saturday, August 15th, 2015 at his daughter's home in Eugene, Oregon after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Michael was born March 5th, 1942 in North Bend, Oregon, the son of Helen and William Lewellyn. He served in the United States Army as a Topographic Surveyor, receiving an honorable discharge in 1970. On December 14th, 1968 he married Ruby Cecile Woods in Reno, Nevada in the presence of their closest friends and family. They moved to Oakridge, Oregon in 1980 where they raised their two daughters, Michelle and Nichole. Michael worked as a Supervising Civil Engineer for the US Forest Service in Oakridge until his retirement in 1992. Michael had a passion and natural talent for all things mechanical; he could often be found in his shop helping friends and tinkering on cars. He loved fishing, four-wheeling in his Bronco and being with the people he loved. He was a loyal friend and loving father whose laughter and sparkling eyes will be missed by many. He is survived by his daughter Nichole Lewellyn of Eugene, Oregon and many dear friends. A memorial service will be held for Michael at a future date. Lutz, Carol  
May 28, 1948 - August 19, 2015 Carol Lutz, age 67, passed away August 19, 2015 at her home in Sams Valley Central Point, OR. Carol was born on May 28, 1948 in Eugene, OR to Harris & Nellie Helgeson. She lived in Oregon all her life. Carol married Mike Lutz in Eugene, OR in 1969. They had one son, Jason in 1973. Carol is survived by her husband, Mike of 46 years; son Jason (Kelly); grandsons, Hunter, Ryan, Tyler, Mathiew (Delaney), Colby and Caleb; sister Janet (Willie), brother, Kevin (Pam); nephews Tyler & Drew; a niece, Kendra; Uncle Donald and Aunt Marilyn along with numerous cousins. Carol was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Craig. Carol's greatest joy in life was her family who she loved and cherished with all her heart. Carol worked many administrative positions throughout her life. She also helped Mike take care of a 20 acre farm along with steers, horses, dogs, cats, chickens, ducks and a peacock. She was very fortunate to be able to take many trail rides in the Oregon wilderness areas seeing the beauty of Oregon's backcountry. At Carol's request, no service is planned at this time. A celebration of life is planned for October 17, 2015, at the family's residence. Miller, Robin  
Robin Alane Miller Robin was born on August 14, 1962 in Eugene, OR to Curtis and Patricia Miller. She passed away on July 31, 2015 in Florence, OR. She was a true Oregonian and lived her entire life in Eugene. She worked as a Secretary/Receptionist for Aramark Services for 32 years, first in the Magazine and Book division and then the Laundry division. She loved to volunteer for various charities including Festival of Trees, Children's Miracle Network and Muscular Dystrophy. Robin joined her family in their love of many different pets in her lifetime. Robin also enjoyed doing crafts with her friends and family. Her favorite musical group was Brooks and Dunn and she attended their live concerts whenever possible. Robin is survived by her mother Patricia, two sisters, Stacy and Candy Miller and her brother Rick Miller, all of Eugene. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Curtis, her grandparents Felix and Clara Miller and Virgil and Leona Nielsen as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. Join us for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 29th at 4599 Kiwanda Street, Florence, OR. The celebration will start with lunch at noon. This is a casual event and we encourage people to dress in the attire of their favorite sports team. Robin loved Duck football!! Please come and help us celebrate Robin's life through memories and friendship.

Georgetta Kay Naber 1958 - 2015 Georgetta Kay Naber, 56, passed away of natural causes July 6, 2015 at her home. Georgetta, worked in retail sales most of her life which included Albertsons, Winco, & JC Penny's in Eugene. Georgetta is survived by her 3 children, 2 grandchildren, and 3 brothers. The family is having a celebration of life gathering on Sunday, Aug. 23rd at Day Island Park in Springfield, OR 3-7 pm at the North shelter. Anyone who knew Georgetta is welcomed to attend.
