Pinkerton, Charles  
Charles "Chuck" James Pinkerton August 17, 1949 - August 11, 2015 Charles "Chuck" James Pinkerton was born to James Harvey and Sylvia Joan Pinkerton in Eugene, OR. Chuck lost his battle with cancer after a long fight surrounded and supported by close friends and family on August 11th. He was known in the community as a self employed contractor and member of J.E.S.C.O. He was also affiliated with the Clean & Sober Motorcycle Club and an avid Oregon Ducks fan. Chuck left behind, his father, 2 sisters, a step son, daughter-in-law and 3 grandsons as well as many friends and business associates. Friends and family will be having a Celebration of Life on September 5th, 2015 at River Road Baptist Church located at 1105 River Road in Eugene at 1p.m. Please come and share your "Chuck" stories with us. Richards, Violet  
December 6, 1930 - July 22, 2015 Violet Victor Richards of Eugene passed away peacefully with her husband, children, some grandchildren and great-grandchildren at her side on July 22, 2015 at the age of 84. Violet was born on December 6, 1930 to Charles Edward and Iva Dorothy Ray in El Centro California. She was the second of 6 children. In 1946 Violet married James Richards and together they had 4 children. Betty Scott, Sandie Richards, Diane Masson and William Richards. Violet enjoyed cooking, sharing recipes and spending time with her family. In addition to her husband and children, she is survived by her brother Loren, sister Mickie, sister Roberta, 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Richardson, Jerry Lee  
Jerry Lee Richardson Jerry Lee Richardson of Eugene, Oregon, passed away on August 6, 2015 at the age of 70. He was born July 4, 1945 in McMinnville, Oregon to Harry and Arvilla Richardson. Jerry Worked as an industrial contractor specializing in concrete. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1964 to 1970. Jerry loved hunting, fishing, The Beavers and the Dodgers. He also adored spending time with his grandchildren. He married Virginia A. Miller on June 16, 1974. He is survived by his brother Lowell Richardson; sister Kathy Brown; wife Virginia; 2 sons: Jason and Craig; Daughter Erin and 4 grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held in Jerry's honor at Virginia's house on Sat., September 12th, 2015 at 3:00pm.

Shankle, Mike  
Mike Shankle of Noti, Oregon passed away on July 10, 2015 at the age of 65. He was born in Eugene, Oregon on September 6, 1949 to Ronald and Lillian Shankle. Mike graduated from Elmira High School and spent four years in the United States Navy. Mike lived and worked in the Noti area and retired in 2011. He was known for his motorcycles, cars, enjoying life and his huge smile. He is survived by two brothers Pat (Linda) Shankle, Shawn Shankle and his sister Ronda (Terry Pier) Shankle. He was preceded in death by his brother Gene Shankle and his sister Julie Shankle and parents Ron and Lillian Shankle. A Celebration of Life Potluck will be held on Saturday, September 5th from 2 to 5pm at 21654 Vaughn Road. The family will provide the main course and guests are invited to bring side dishes.

Springman, Sheri Lynn  
Sheri Lynn Springman February 28, 1971 - August 19, 2015 On the evening of August 19th, 2015, Sheri passed away unexpectedly at Sacred Heart Hospital. She was 44 years of age. She was born in Lebanon, OR on February 28th, 1971. She was the first child of Chuck and Sue Lorentz. She moved with her parents and sister, Lori, to Eugene, OR in 1980. Sheri met and fell in love with Guy Springman in the summer of 1989. They were married on November 21, 1991 and shortly thereafter, her cherished sons were born; Joshua, Nov. 1992 and Cody, Jul. 1996. Sheri was devoted to her husband and her sons, and spent her days caring for and supporting them. In April, 2015, Sheri became a grandmother to Joshua's son, Carder. She is survived by her loving husband, Guy Springman; Her two sons, Joshua and Cody; Her grandson, Carder Pittsley-Springman; Parents, Chuck and Sue Lorentz; Sister, Lori Hart; Grandmother, Joyce Bates. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 29th at the Shasta Ball Fields located at Shasta Middle School, 4656 Barger Dr., Eugene OR, 97402. To honor Sheri, the family requests that attendees wear Seattle Seahawks or Oregon Duck attire.

Steimer, Jack Robert  
Jack Robert Steimer December 20, 1935 - August 26, 2015 Jack Robert Steimer passed peacefully at the age of 79 from Alzheimer's related causes in his home with family at the bedside. Jack was born in Chicago of Robert and Geraldine Steimer, joining his siblings Roy, Skip, Nancy, Rick and Bobby. Following his service in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict Jack entered the retail field and retired as a District Manager. Jack is survived by his wife Susan of 57 years, sons Larry, Rodney, Jack Jr and Michael.; daughters Debbie Steimer Reibling, Christine Steimer Fogle and Gina Steimer Hygema; 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. There will be a rosary and funeral at Saint Mary's Catholic church Monday August 31 starting at 11:30 with a reception following. Graveside services will be private. Donations in lieu of flowers should be sent to Saint Vincent DePaul or the Alzheimer's Association.

Towne, Carolyn Ruth  
Carolyn Ruth Towne July 25, 1931 - August 21, 2015 Carolyn R. Towne, 84, passed away August 21, 2015 in Springfield, Oregon. Carolyn was born in Firth, Idaho, July 25, 1931 to Bill and Ebba Cederburg. She attended Idaho State where she met and married Harland Towne. They had 5 children, Patrick, Michael, Julia, Teresa, and Anthony and lived in Creswell for 55 years. She has seven grandchildren, and seven great - grandchildren. Carolyn finished her teaching degree in 1969 at UO and taught at Creswell Elementary school for years, usually teaching first grade. She was known for her cooking ability as well as her oil paintings and quilting, but mostly as a sweet, loving mother and grandmother. She was "the Baby Whisperer" because of her ability to soothe any child. An informal gathering and viewing will be held Monday, August 31, from 1 to 2:30 at Musgrove Family Mortuary, 225 S. Wood, Thomas S.  
Thomas S. Wood July 26, 1928 - August 25, 2015 Thomas S. Wood passed away August 25, after his battle with lung cancer. Thomas was born July 26, 1928 to T.S. and Hester P. Wood in McAlester, Oklahoma. He attended High School there and upon graduation, attended Oklahoma A & M, now Oklahoma State University. He was a successful businessman and held many positons over his career. He married Betty L. Abrams in 1968 and moved to Oregon. They traveled with their RV for many years until settling into full time retirement at home due to Betty's health. They became members of River Road Baptist Church and were loved by all who knew them. In 2010, Betty preceded Thomas in death. Betty had two children, Twila and Mike Abrams. Thomas is survived by his step-daughter Twila whose brother Mike is deceased. Tom, as he was known by his friends, was always the southern gentleman and will be greatly missed by his friends. A memorial service will be conducted at West Lawn Memorial Gardens on Thursday, Sept. 3, at 1:00 p.m. followed by interment at Oak Hill Cemetery.
