Spearin, Willard  
Willard Emmons Spearin 1933 - 2016 Will Spearin passed away at home on April 21st of natural causes. Will was born in Bellingham, WA, to the late Dr. Emmons P. and Ruth Spearin. He graduated from the University of Oregon Dental School in 1962 and started his practice in Bellingham. He taught at the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in Augusta in the early 1970's before moving to Eugene, Oregon as a Periodontist, where he had a successful practice in Eugene and Coos Bay for many years. Will was an active member of the community and served with several clubs: Rotary, Kiwanis, Lions, and the Elks. His many hobbies included woodworking, cycling and skiing. He was preceded in death by a brother Herbert P. Spearin and a sister Lois A. Spearin. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Judy Spearin and his daughters Deborah Spearin, Jeannette Murphy, Sara L. Spearin and step-children Joyce Settelmeyer, Jolynn Stroda, Jim McGaughey, and 10 grandchildren. A memorial mass of burial will be held on Friday, April 29th at 12:15pm at St Mary Catholic Church. A rosary will precede the mass at 11:30am. Burial will be at West Lawn Memorial Park with funeral arrangements by Buell and Andreason's In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Food For Lane County or Habitat For Humanity.

Stanturf, Tom  
Tom Stanturf September 27, 1952 - April 14, 2016 Tom passed away peacefully in his sleep at his daughter's house in Prineville, Oregon. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sat. 04/30/16 @4:00 pm at The Willamalane Sports Complex 350 S. 32nd St Spfld, OR. Tom was a HUGE Oregon Duck fan. So in honor of him, we ask that you wear your favorite Duck attire. Food and drinks will be provided.

Sumner, Vernon  
Vernon Jesse Sumner 8/7/1919 - 4/18/2016 A memorial service will be held for Vernon J. Sumner of Eugene, who died of age related causes on April 18, 2016. He was 96 years old. The service will be held Saturday, April 30 at 10 am at the First Church of the Nazarene in Eugene, 830 Madison. In lieu of flowers contact beckybwild@yahoo.com to donate to Veterans Association. Vernon was born near Trail Oregon to Jess and Bell Sumner. He graduated from Coos River High School in 1937, and attended Pasadena College in California. He married Grace E. Farmer on February 4th, 1942 in Glendale, California. This union produced four children: Karen Mustard, Judy Long, Becky Goetze, and Steve Sumner. He served in the United States Navy during World War II from November 6th, 1940 to September 1st, 1945. Service also included the Southwest Pacific, and the Philippines. He was honorably discharged as Chief Radioman on September 1st, 1945. His occupation was Lumber Broker, and Realtor. He lived in Coos Bay, Sumner, Amity, and Portland Oregon before moving to Eugene in 1959. He and his family attended the First Church of the Nazarene. His love of golf allowed him to play into his 90's. He is survived by his four children, 9 grandchildren (Brion & Angie Long, Cam McNeeley, Heather McCarthy, Luke & Jenny Sumner, Cam, Craig, & Collin Willers), 7 great grandchildren (Ethan & Emily Willers, Caiden, Audrey, & Madeline McCarthy, Liv Sumner, & Tiana Coates), and 2 great, great grandchildren (Ben & Isaiah Coates).

Woods, Claudia  
Claudia Sue Woods December 31, 1943 - April 7, 2016 Claudia Sue (Casey) Woods 72, formerly of Walterville, OR, died Thursday, Apr. 07, 2016, at Hemet Valley Medical Center in Hemet, CA. Claudia was born in Evansville, IN, and graduated from Eisenhower Senior High School before starting an exciting career in the electronics industry. Claudia married Kenneth G. Woods in 1966 and raised her family in Eugene, operating a few successful businesses in Lane County before retiring and moving to California to be closer to her family. Her fondest years and memories were of those in her beloved Oregon. She enjoyed snow skiing, water skiing, rafting, and everything outdoors that Oregon has to offer. She will always be remembered by her friends and family for her vibrant personality, generosity, as a wonderful cook, and hostess of fantastic international food gatherings. Claudia is survived by her son; Kenneth G. Woods, Jr (Mary).; daughter, Erika L. Woods; and sisters Carol Casey, Sonia Roxas, and Linda Rios. Countless friends and extended family members will also miss her tremendously. Remembrances may be made in the form of donation to the American Lung Association.
