Anthony Xavier Johnson died on September 1, 2016 in Eugene OR at the age of 24.

Anthony was born December 28, 1991 in Eugene, OR. He was the first born son of Anthony (Tony) Johnson and Anna Johnson. He was also the big brother to Amir and Athena. On July 17, 2016 he became a new father to Lovea.

Anthony attended school in the Bethel School District and graduated from Kalapuya High School. He was instrumental in helping improve Golden Gardens Park in the Bethel neighborhood where his good friend Nick Davis drowned. He wrote and delivered a speech to the Eugene City Council when he was in the eighth grade in support of improving the gravel pits into a safe and accessible park. He and his eighth grade class from Prairie Mountain School helped raise funds and built a walking path. Today the park has walking paths, graded pond banks and emergency access roads.

Anthony will be remembered for being a good friend with a big heart and always willing to help someone in need. His capacity for forgiveness is something to be admired. He loved spending time with family and his large extended family. Anthony was known for his humor, quick smile and warm hugs. He enjoyed music and an ever growing collection of shoes and hats. Anthony also had a natural ability for writing and poetry. He most of all was excited about becoming a father and was making positive changes in his life for his baby girl.

Anthony will be missed by all of his family and his many friends. A private memorial was held in September to celebrate his life. The family would like to thank everyone for their contributions, kindness, and gifts during this difficult time.
