Gary K. Shaw passed away peacefully in Eugene on Jan. 29, of age related causes. He was born to Randal and Hildur (Johnson) Shaw on Feb 14, 1934 in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan, Canada. The family moved to Eugene in 1942. He graduated from Crow High School in 1951 and went to work at Koke-Chapman Printing as a delivery boy. After 3 yrs in the army he returned to Koke and worked his way up to sales manager during his 44 year career.
Gary married Carol Ann Abbott in Eugene, OR June 23, 1957. They had 3 children. Gary loved cars, owning a 1927 Model T that he kept in mint condition. He belonged to the Eugene Mustang Club and the Antique Car Club. He had a large collection of model cars. He was a member of the Eugene Chapter of the Jaycees, the Eugene Chamber of Commerce, and the Kiwanis Club. Gary will be long remembered for his love of laughter and conversation, as well as his ever present smile.
Survivors include his wife Carol; daughters: Carol Renee Shaw-Slife of Salem; Edith Natalia Carter of Harrisburg; and son, Gary Daniel, of Eugene; brother, Boyd Shaw of Lake Oswego; sisters: Yvonne Story of Eugene; and Linda Denker of Meridian Idaho; 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. His brother Donald preceded him in death.
A private memorial will be held at later date.
