Dennis Hickok passed following a courageous battle with a rare disease. Born in Rochester, MN, son of the late Jean and Henry Hickok, Dennis graduated from the University of Oregon and lived in Texas before settling in West Hollywood, CA. An extremely talented designer and landscape architect, his exceptional work included The Getty Center and Los Angeles Civic Center Mall, and projects around the world. Dennis practiced at his firm D.H. Landscape Architecture, Inc., and prior at SWA, POD and Richard Meier & Partners Architects. He is survived by his brother Mike, two Goddaughters, and his beloved "family" of friends.
A memorial service will be held in Los Angeles in October or November. Those interested, please email: friendsofdhickok@gmail.com. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dennis Hickok Memorial Fund, Gamehaven Boy Scout Council - Minnesota, or to the Dept. of Landscape Architecture, Univ. of Oregon, Eugene, in memory of Dennis Hickok.
