September 6, 1954 - October 1, 2018

Pete Leslie died peacefully at his home on Oct. 1, 2018. He was the much-loved son of Donald P. Leslie and Marion Leslie, brother of Charles Leslie (Deb), William Leslie, Mary Oravec (Joe) and Bonnie Warner (Ted); and caring uncle to three nephews and a niece.

Pete rode his bike throughout Eugene and enjoyed his family visiting. He never turned down "lunch at the Glenwood". Pete kept in close touch with his parents, who were just a bus ride or phone call away.

He was a long-time member of Central Presbyterian Church, assisting as an usher, and you could find him sitting quietly in the back pew most Sundays. Pete was a peaceful man with a sense of humor. He volunteered as a reading assistant in local elementary schools.

He attended the U of O and graduated from Portland State University, studying journalism and history. Pete collected stamps and had an extensive collection which he liked to update at stamp club. He attended a folk dancing group which he enjoyed since college.

Pete lived with bi-polar mental illness for many years. He met his health challenges with grace and patience, never complaining.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Central Presbyterian Church or NAMI Lane County (National Alliance for Mental Illness).

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 PM, Sat. Oct. 6, 2018, at Central Presbyterian Church chapel, 555 E. 15th Ave., Eugene, OR 97401 with reception to follow in the parlor.
