We will miss his good humor, amazing generosity, and sunny outlook on life. His devotion to family is the glue that binds us in love.

Hamilton Mays was born in Rochester, NY, to parents Albert and Sallie (Gailey) Mays. He was a beloved father, husband, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family.

Hamilton served honorably in WWII as a U.S. Army Captain and continued his service to the government for 30 years as a civil engineer in Japan, Hawaii, and Okinawa. Hamilton is survived by his wife Lily (Manzen) Mays, his five children - Janet, Geoffrey, Sally, Merri, and Hamilton Jr. - and their families. He and Lily would have celebrated their 63rd anniversary on October 2. He is preceded in death by his sister Nel and brother Warner.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2012 in the Washington Room at The Bedford (13303 SE McGillivray Blvd. Vancouver, WA 98689).Please sign the guest book at www.registerguard.com/legacy
