Robert McGregor Cummins of Oakridge passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend in Springfield. Born in Eugene, Oregon on June 3, 1946 to parents William Francis and Helen Lorita (Smith) Cummins, Robert was the youngest of four children and was raised in Oregon. Robert retired from the US Navy in 1995 after 30-years retiring at the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer. Highlights of Robert's career include multiple deployments, including one deployment to Vietnam, and having been selected to the All-Navy Rifle team.

A Son, brother, father, uncle, friend and sportsman; Robert loved the outdoors, hunting, camping, fishing, crabbing and was an avid supporter of the environment. He also enjoyed cooking, especially bbq, smoke and campfire specialties. Known as a practical jokester, Robert enjoyed playing tricks on family, always in a loving manner, Robert respected the environment.

Robert was predeceased by two sisters; Sara Ann (San) Rawlinson and Margaret Atkins and nephew William (Bill) Cummins III. He is survived by brother, William (Bill) Cummins Jr of Amarillo, Texas, two daughters; Valorie Harris and her husband Shane of Stuttgart, Germany and Cynthia (Cindy) Retzloff of Madrid, Iowa, four grandchildren and seven nieces and nephews.

Funeral services and burial will take place at 12:00pm on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Willamette National Cemetery, 11800 SE Mount Scott Blvd., Portland, OR 97086
