After a long and courageous fight, Robert Ralph Cole, 71, of Eugene, Oregon, lost his battle with cancer on August 27, 2018 in the comfort of his home surrounded by family. Rob was born April 23, 1947 to Ralph and Alma Cole in Alhambra, California. After graduating from high school, Rob served in the US Air Force from 1965 to 1972 as an aircraft repair fabricator and achieved the rank of Sergeant. While serving in the Air Force, Rob married the love of his life, Gail on August 26, 1967. In 1973, Rob, Gail and their oldest son, relocated to Roseburg. While in Oregon, he welcomed two more sons and became an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and being in the great outdoors. He was active in the scouting community with his three sons. In 2000, Rob moved to Eugene to establish the composites department for Marathon Coach, then retired as Department Manager due to his illness.

Rob is survived by his loving wife, Gail; three sons: Michael (wife Kristen), Jonathan (wife Casey), Gabriel (wife Chennel); four grandsons: Noah Wist, Matthew, Tyler and Alexander Cole;sister: Loretta Williams; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, cousins and Chubby Charlie.

A celebration of life service was held on September 1, 2018 at the family home in Eugene. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that tribute donations may be sent to: Hospice of Sacred Heart 677 E. 12th Ave Suite N-110 Eugene, Oregon 97401.
