Rosemarie Alter Obituary
On June 29, 2015, Rosemarie Alter peacefully passed away at the age of 90 years.
Born in 1925 in Waukegan, IL, she became an accomplished piano player at a very early age growing up in Libertyville.
Her career spanned 41 years, starting in Los Angeles, CA, working with several Hollywood movie stars for dance rehearsals, also performing at many clubs, several outdoor concerts and entertaining troops near the end of WWII. Moving to San Mateo, CA, she became very well known in the S.F. Bay area jazz scene performing at 3 different locations.
After retiring in the mid 80's, she relocated to Eugene, OR where she remained for 30 years.
She is survived by her sons Paul and Barry, 3 grandchildren (David, Garrett, and Hilarie), 7 great-grandchildren, and 2 nieces and a nephew.
Private services will be held in Palo Alto, CA.
