George James Young (1947 - 2013)

George James Young passed away on September 19th, 2013 due to complications from cancer.

George was born in Oakland CA on September 12, 1947. He was the oldest of three siblings. He loved sports of all kinds and played baseball, basketball, and cross country in high school. He was a veteran of the Vietnam war and earned several medals of commendation. After Vietnam, George attended Stanford University.

George had an interesting life. He owned a restaurant, lived in Mexico for a time, and was captain of a fishing boat in Alaska (the Sea Legend). He loved the ocean, children, and his dog Sam.

George was always able to brighten the lives of the people who were around him. He was the life of the party, always smiling, always giving.

George passed away at his home which is where he wanted to be. He will be deeply missed by his sister Debbie, his housemates Jo and Lynn, and his longtime friend Marilyn.
