Alcorn, Wanda J. - College Corner  
COLLEGE CORNER — Wanda J. Alcorn, age 74, of College Corner, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Fort Hamilton Hospital, Hamilton. She was born March 25, 1942, in Dayton, to the late George and Allie (Mason) Williams. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son Darryl W. Alcorn, who passed away in 2011; sister Carol Markunes; and brother Fred Williams. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, George R. Alcorn of College Corner; son Michael (Tracy) Alcorn of Oxford; daughter Lisa Frazier of Dayton; daughter-in-law Mindy Alcorn of Eaton; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister Linda O'Brien of College Corner; brother Larry (Marilyn) Williams of Westborough, MA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH with Pastor Tim Tice officiating. Cope, Mickey E. - Midlothian  
MIDLOTHIAN, VIRGINIA — Mickey E. Cope Sr., age 76, of Midlothian, Virginia (formerly of Camden, Ohio) passed away on Friday, May 13, 2016, in Richmond, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his daughters Diane Kirkpatrick and Tammy Cope. Mickey is survived by his wife of 59 years Marilyn (Levangie) Cope; daughters Joyce Hofe of Jacksonville, North Carolina; Barbara (Brian) Karns of Eaton; and Kelley (Andy) Thacker of New Lebanon; son Mickey (Krista) Cope of North Chesterfield, Virginia; and 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Hines, Christopher E. - Winchester  
WINCHESTER, INDIANA — Christopher Eugene Hines, age 54, of Winchester, Indiana, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Reid Hospital. He was born in Dayton, Ohio, on June 23, 1961, to Bill and Helen Hunt Hines. Chris married his wife Misty Goodwin on Oct. 5, 2005. He was an avid fisherman who loved spending time on his boat, he would launch his boat anywhere with water just to be out fishing. Chris was known as quite the jokester at work, he loved spending time with his family and will be missed greatly by many. Survivors include his wife Misty; godson, whom he treated as his own, Jacob Goodwin; father Bill Hines; brother Barry Hines; very special nieces and nephews Ava and Rylee Cannon; Jessica Hines of New Paris; and Melissa Hines of Richmond, Indiana; many aunts, uncles and cousins and several friends. Chris is preceded in death by his mother Helen Hunt Hines. Services for Chris were held Thursday, May 26, Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary with the burial in Williamsburg Cemetery. Pastor Lowell Spencer and Eden Grace officiated.

Schlosser, A. Berneice - Eaton  
EATON — A. Berneice Schlosser, age 85, of Eaton, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Reid Hospital, Richmond, Indiana. She was born March 12, 1931, in Williamsburg, Indiana, to the late Hamilton and Henrietta (Gregg) Martin. She was a member of the Eaton Church of the Nazarene and attended Go Ministries Church in West Manchester; she retired after 37 years of employment from the Alcoa Company, Richmond, Indiana; she enjoyed embroidery and woodworking; and perhaps her greatest accomplishment was a 22-year ongoing battle with cancer. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by husband David P. Schlosser, who passed away in 2011; and brothers Rev. Emmett Martin, Denver Martin, Elvan Martin and infant John Martin. She is survived by her brother and sisters: Victor (Gladys) Martin of Eaton; Irene Saylor of Richmond, Indiana; LaDema (Lloyd) McDermitt of Richmond, Indiana; Faye Martin of New Paris; Sharon Pearce of New Madison; Esther Shuler of Eaton; and Ruth Martin of Cincinnati; and numerous nieces and nephews. Simmons, Linda - Eaton  
EATON — Linda L. Simmons, 74, of Eaton, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, May 23, 2016 at her residence. She was born May 29, 1941 in Preble County to the late Ray and Katherine (Freitag) Hewitt. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters: Arther Hewitt, Hannah Mary Hewitt, Bertha Hewitt, Doris Hewitt, Franklin Hewitt and Barbara Hewitt. She is survived by her husband of 47 years R. Travis Simmons of Eaton; daughter Bertha D. (Edmund) Kalil of West Alexandria; son Norman R. (Judy) Fudge of New Paris; daughter Bobbi Lynn (Keith) Linville of Milroy, Indiana; daughter Rolinda Lois Bowman of Eaton; son R. Harvey (Liz) Simmons of Eldorado; 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sister Katherine (Jack Rader) Hewitt of Eaton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Venable, Martha - Eaton  
EATON — Martha A. Venable, 90, of Eaton, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at her residence. She was born May 9, 1926, in London, Kentucky to the late Benjamin Harrison and Lillie (Hensley) Cheek. She was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church, Eaton. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Ernest C. Venable, who passed away July 5, 2015; brothers Sam, Bill, Jim, Charlie, John and Henry Cheek; sisters Louanna Meyer, Ethel Wheelock, Edna Smith and Grace Sawyer. She is survived by her sons Larry Ernest (Angie) Venable of Eaton, Edwin Michael (Sandra K.) Venable of Eaton, and Dennis Lee (Cynthia) Venable of Marion, New York; granddaughter Angela Beth Nance; grandsons Matt, Robert, Cory, Derek, Kevin, Andrew and Daniel Venable; great-granddaughters Samantha, Heidi, Adriana and Victoria; great grandsons Ryan, Preston, Maguire, Hudson and Micah; sister Mildred (Linville) Gray of Camden; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 28, at Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, with Pastor Jack Moore officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 27, from 5-7 p.m. at Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held on Sunday, May 29, from 1 p.m. until time of funeral services at 2 p.m. at the Boonville Funeral Home in Boonville, Kentucky.
