Judith A. Combs

Judith Ann "Judy" Combs, 65, of Richmond, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Fort Hamilton Hospital in Hamilton.

Born June 9, 1947, in Richmond, to Edward J. and Dorothy J. Ebeling Stars, Judy lived most of her life in Richmond and New Paris. She attended Jefferson High School in New Paris. Judy was a meat wrapper at Cox's Market for 25 years, retiring in 1996. She attended Hand-In-Hand Adult Day Care of Richmond. Judy enjoyed reading and being around people. Throughout her life, Judy faced numerous setbacks but always remained upbeat and positive. She looked at life as "the glass is half full, not half empty." People loved hearing her laugh.

Survivors include her two sons, Charles Joseph "Joe" (Roxanne) Combs and William Lee "Billy" Combs Jr., both of Hamilton; sister, Karen (Gary) Platt Reece of Richmond; two grandchildren, Daniel Combs and Rachel Combs; nieces; nephews; one sister-in-law; and many friends at Wellington Manor Nursing Home in Hamilton, and Hand-In-Hand Adult Day Care of Richmond.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy J. Miller; father, Edward J. Stars; and two brothers, Michael and Mark Stars.

Memorial visitation for Judith Ann "Judy" Combs will be from 11 to 12:00 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at First English Lutheran Church, 2727 East Main Street, Richmond. Memorial service will follow at noon, Friday, at First English Lutheran Church, with Pastor Brian Derrer officiating. Burial will be in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris.
