Sondra E. Berberich

Sondra Elaine (Robinson) Berberich passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by loved ones on Friday, April 19, 2013, after being diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) just eight short months ago.

Nothing Sandy ever did could be described as ordinary. Her unique ability to turn the mundane into the extraordinary is a talent hard to describe. Growing up in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of working class parents her creativity, humor and compassion were realized early when she conceded Valedictorian status to one of her fellow students, earning Salutatorian for herself.

Sandy and Larry spent 44 adventurous years by each other's sides. Their time was spent developing and operating aerospace businesses, tackling home projects, boating down the mighty Mississippi Rivers en-route to the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks and motoring in their Bluebird Wanderlodge Motor Coach. Their love to be "on the go" provided years of wonderful memories.

As one who needed no fashion tips, Sandy was equally at home at a black tie affair as she was cheering on her grandson at the ball field. Sandy's passion for detailed elegance and beauty was never more apparent than when others viewed her Christmas village. With every aspect thought out and rendered, she inspired many to create their own Christmas masterpieces.

Sandy's drive and creativity were fully realized matters much more important than in Christmas figurines. Her tireless work on the Carlie Brucia Memorial, a joy to her and a gift to her community.

Sandy touched many lives with her commitment to helping others, but the greatest gift to her family and friends was her beautiful writing. Whether it was a song about lettuce, a poem dedicated to one of her wonderful beloved grandchildren or a letter to the editor about a gross misdeed, Sandy touched everyone when she put pen to paper.

Sandy could have never imagined writing her "last story," so it is with enormous admiration and respect that those who love her write in her absence, "Love & Stuff."

Sandy is survived by her husband Larry Berberich of Bradenton, and their children and grandchildren; John Berberich of Sarasota, Florida and his four children: Andrew, Tyler, Spencer and Christina. Jayne (Gary) LeGate of Nashville, Tennessee and their children Chad (Lauren) of Greenville, SC., Brittney, and Morgan of Nashville, and Craig Berberich of Bradenton, Florida.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 23 at Woodland Community Church, 9607 State Road 70 East, Bradenton, Florida.

Memorial contributions may be forwarded to: Tidewell Hospice 5955 Rand Blvd. Sarasota, FLA 34238
