Alfred Charles Kiracofe, born Dec. 15, 1917, in Gratis, died peacefully in Bradenton, FL. on Dec. 21, 2012.
Al was successful in life as a Christian family man. He was a veteran of WWII, having served on the Aircraft Carrier Intrepid. He had a long career in the automobile industry, was a lifetime member of the Lions Club, the American Legion and had a lifelong commitment to humanitarian services. Al was admired and respected by many friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Maurine (Messinger) in 1989, son Jerry D. Kiracofe in 1992, second wife, Leona DeYoung, in 2007, nine siblings and two sons-in-law.
He is survived by one sister, Betty Willis of Gratis, five children, Jan (Glendyr) of Essex, MD., Jolene (David Bouslog), Jennifer Brierly and Julianne (Dixey Behnken), all of Sarasota, FL., Joyce Keller of Dickson, TN., two step-children, Sharon (Bill) Dryfhout of Holland, MI., and Ed (Linda) DeYoung of Lethbridge, Canada, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Alfred was proud of the deep-rooted principles of the Kiracofe family, and he will be greatly missed by many.
A celebration of life will be held in Gratis/Eaton, at a later date.
