Charles E. Fisher, 82 years, 9 months, and 29 days, of Eaton, passed away on Thursday Nov. 29, 2012 at his residence.
He was born Jan. 31, 1930 in Eaton to the late Ross B. and Mabel Irene (Wehrly) Fisher. He was baptized into the Old German Baptist Church where he remained faithful. He was always a good provider, spiritual guide, husband, father and grandfather. He will always be remembered for his humor and optimistic outlook on life. He worked for 32 years at E.A. Eikenberry of Eaton and retired from Brubaker Grain in Collinsville in 2011. He enjoyed farming on the same farm he had lived on since he was 9 weeks old.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Owen; two brothers Dale and Alfred; and one sister-in-law Barbara.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Betty Lou (Angle) Fisher; two sons Greg Fisher of Centerville, Ind. and Ed (Shirley) Fisher, West Alexandria; daughter Joyce (Curt) Garber, Arcanum; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister Naomi Padgett, Greenville; sister-in-law Betty Fisher of Lewisburg; and many other family and friends.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Dec. 3, at the Prices Creek Old German Baptist Brethren Church, three miles south of Eldorado, on Ohio 726 with the Home Brethren officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery. Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, Eaton is assisting the family with arrangements.
