David E. Keckler, 64, of Laura, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2012 at his residence.
Born on Feb. 20, 1948 in Dayton, he served in the U.S. Navy for 25 years. He had worked at F & P America Mfg. in Troy, and attended the Lewisburg United Church of Christ and was a member of the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his father: Charles Keckler in 1995 and a daughter: Barbara Keckler in 1984.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years: Dorothy Ann (Kouts) Keckler; sons: Curtis E. Keckler of Fremont, and Joseph R. Keckler & fiancée Elizabeth of Laura; daughter & son-in-law: Stacey & Roger Sorg of Clyde; sister: Deanna (Roger) Winberg of Hessel, MI; mother: Viola (Sensenbaugh) Keckler of Hessel, MI; 11 grandchildren: Taylor, Alysia, Abagail, Ashlynn, Autum, Owen, Ethin, Alyssa, Emma, Zoey and William; mother-in-law: Rowena Kouts of Lewisburg, and sister-in-law: Beverly A. (Stoney L.) League of Lewisburg.
Funeral services were Friday, Nov. 2, at Barnes Funeral Home, 411 North Commerce Street, Lewisburg, with Rev. David O. Justis officiating. Interment was held in Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg with full military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard.
