Herbert H. Comer Sr., 85, of West Alexandria, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013 at Hospice of Dayton.
He was born in New Lebanon on March 26, 1927 to Clifford and Hazel Comer. He was a WWII Navy veteran. He had retired from Rohm & Haas Mfg. in West Alexandria. He was a member of James E. Ryan Post #322 American Legion and a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Ingomar.
He is survived by three children, Diana (Ronald) Angel, Farmersville; Brenda Miller, Eaton; Christopher (Melodie) Comer, West Alexandria; 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; nieces and nephews, half sister, Martha Katherine.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Violet in 1998, his parents, a son, Herbert H. Comer Jr., grandchild, Michael Burnside and brother Howard Comer.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Feb. 25, at St. John Lutheran Church on Enterprise Rd. with Rev. Laura Cavendish officiating. Burial was in Twin Valley Cemetery. For condolences: www.lindloffzimmerman.com
