RICHARD A. JORDAN
NEW PARIS – Richard Allan Jordan, 72, of New Paris, died Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Reid Hospital.
Born Feb. 7, 1942, in Richmond, Indiana, to Harold and Josephine Weatherly Jordan, he was a life-long resident of this area. Richard was a graduate of Jefferson High School. He farmed all of his life and retired as a truck driver for ABF after 11 years. Richard was a member of Central United Methodist Church. He collected Farmall Tractors and loved going to tractor shows. Richard enjoyed winters in Naples, Florida, fishing, riding his bicycle, and playing bingo.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Lawson Jordan, to whom he was married Sept. 18, 2008; daughters, Jill (Brad) Eales of New Paris, and Judy Jordan Barnes of Eaton; son, Richard Jay (Cathy) Jordan of New Paris; mother, Josephine Jordan of Richmond; brothers, Gene (Roxanne) Jordan of Tampa, Florida, Jon (Debbie) Jordan and Tom (Lisa) Jordan, both of New Paris; sisters, Ann (Ray) Copeland of Tyler, Texas and Amy (Dinal) Andreasen of Marietta, Georgia; grandchildren, Courtney (Josh) Swan, Tyler Jordan, Katelyn Eales, and Madelyn Jordan; great-grandchildren, Carter and Zoey; nieces; nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, ShirleyAnn Murphy Jordan and his father, Harold Jordan.
Visitation for Richard Allan Jordan was held Sunday, June 22, 2014, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service was Monday, June 23, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Rev. Kerry O'Brien officiating. Burial was in Westville Cemetery in Eaton.
