Robert H. Stubbs, 88, of West Elkton, passed away Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, at the Vancrest Health Care Center, Eaton.
He was born Nov. 7, 1924 in Somerville, to the late Hubert and Gladys (Hicks) Stubbs. Bob was a U.S. Navy Veteran, who served during WWII; he was a life member of the American Legion and the V.FW. both of Middletown; was a member of the Masonic Lodge #159 of Camden, OH; was a member of the West Elkton United Methodist Church; and he retired after 42 years of employment from Armco Steel (A.K. Steel) in Middletown.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Dorthea L. Bunting.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary L. Stubbs; son Glenn (Karen Powers) Stubbs of Zoar; grandchildren Jeremy (Sara) Stubbs of Hamilton, and Carrie (Sean) Vetrovsky of Savannah, Georgia; four great-grandchildren; and niece Beth (Steve) Werts of Eaton.
Graveside service was held on Saturday, Sept. 21, at the West Elkton Cemetery, West Elkton. Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, Eaton, assisted the family with arrangements.
