John J. Idle, 95, of Springboro, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012 at Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties.

Born on July 17, 1917 in Wapakoneta, he was the son of the late Vance B. & Beryl (Smith) Idle. John retired in 1977 as a truck driver for Commercial Motor in Dayton and was a member of Local 957 in Dayton. He was a W.W. II U.S. Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by brothers: Bernard and Fred Idle.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years: Marilyn (Boldt) Idle; daughter & son-in-law: Billie Jean (Dale) Craig, Centerville; grandchildren: Julie Stevens and Nicole Kliest; great-grandson: Caleb Kliest.

Funeral service was held Saturday, Nov. 10, at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main St., Eaton, OH with Rev. Brian Nunnally officiating. Interment was in Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton with military honors by the Preble County Honor Guard.
