Mary E. Stewart, 87, of Eaton, and formerly of New Paris, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 in Eaton.
Born on Dec. 10, 1925 in Richmond, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Frank & Fannie (Jackson) Farwig. Mary was a 1942 graduate of Richmond High School, was cook for C.R. Coblentz Elementary School for 17 years and was a former co- owner and operator of the Countryside Restaurant in New Paris.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband Paul Stewart in 1997; son, Michael E. Stewart in 1992 and her brothers, Lafayette and Edward Farwig.
She is survived by daughter & son-in-law, Linda K. (Fred) Hodapp, Eaton; son, John E. Stewart, Monroe; grandchildren, Brandy Thompson, Amy Stewart and Timothy Stewart.; two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, New Paris, with Rev. Joseph Hodapp officiating. Interment was in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris.
