Shirley Adell Elliott July 23, 1927 - November 14, 2017 We give thanks for the long and precious life of our mom, sister, aunt, grandma, and friend. She was the eldest of 4 daughters to Ruby (Riddell) and Arnold Anderson of Donavon, SK. Her passion was playing the piano and she had the exceptional talent of being able to play any song in any key. She was an active volunteer at the Western Development Museum (WDM), first with the Women's Auxiliary as a pianist for their singing group, before forming The WDM Singers. She played weekly for 35 years - both at the WDM and long-term care homes throughout Saskatoon. Mom also played the calliope in the parade each year and at other summer events. Shirley played piano in a number of fiddle bands for 30 years before forming The Outcast Fiddle Band 10 years ago. She had an active schedule playing with them throughout the city. Mom received the Saskatchewan Centennial Medal in 2005. Shirley will be deeply missed by her loving children and grandchildren: Heather (Ray) Deis; Ross (Ruth) with children, Stephen, Michelle, and David; Sharon Elliott (Rod Watson); and Scott (Gloria) with children, Joseph and Macaria; her sisters and their families: Arlene Bray, Ruth Sutherland, Carol (Darryl) Downton, as well as cousins and many friends.
