Joseph Cilfone Obituary
Joseph Michael Cilfone, of Winsted, a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 21st, at the age of 74.
Born on April 7, 1951, Joe was a lifelong craftsman and motorcycle enthusiast, he found joy in building, restoring, and riding his motorcycles-most notably his prized 1936 "Knucklehead." Whether on the open road or tinkering in the garage, he approached everything he did with patience, skill, and an artist's touch.
Though a private man by nature, Joe's quiet strength and generosity spoke volumes. He was the one people called when they needed help, and he never hesitated to lend a hand, a tool, or a word of advice. His loyalty to family and friends was unwavering, and his kindness left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.
For more than 50 years, Joe worked in the family business, Oakville Home Improvement, where his hard work, dedication, and craftsmanship became the backbone of its success. Even after retiring, his presence and wisdom continued to guide those who followed in his footsteps.
He will be deeply missed by his family, including his son, Joseph Michael Cilfone, Jr., his siblings, Anthony V. and wife Joanne Cilfone, Gloriann (Cilfone) and husband, Walter Tamulonis, Dean Cilfone and partner, Krista Palomba, sister-in-law, Sandra and her husband, Jim Rizk, former sister-in-law, Joann Cilfone, and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Joe was predeceased by his former partner, Sandra Newman, his brother, Vincent Cilfone, and his parents, Joseph Dean and Gloria Lorraine (Colella) Cilfone.
Family and friends are welcome to join us at the burial to be held at Calvary Cemetery, 2324 East Main St., Waterbury, on Wednesday, October 29, at 11:00 am and for a gathering afterwards. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Joe by taking a ride, lending a hand to someone in need, or spending time doing what you love-just as he did every day.
