Cooley, Josephine "Jo" - Loveland
Josephine "Jo" Cooley of Loveland was called Home on June 7, 2015. She was born April 9, 1939 in Clark, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her longtime companion, Rod O'Mara, parents Carl and Edith Brown, sisters Lorraine Deering & Effie Cross, her dear brother-in-law Al Cross, and brother Ken Brown. She is survived by her sons; Rod Cooley and wife Pam of Loveland, James Cooley of Loveland, Ray Cooley and wife Nancy, of Loveland, Allen Cooley and wife Deb of Loveland, and Randy Cooley of Redlands, California. She has 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren that she loved immensely and was very proud of. Spending most of her adolescence on her own, Jo was no stranger to hard work nor discipline. She was also a jack of all trades! From the daily grind of managing a farm to her 30 years of service at Hewlett Packard in the Information Technology Department, Jo could do anything and adapt anywhere. Even in the wilds of Alaska, where she spent much of her post-retirement days the way that she wanted to: free! She always had a love of woodworking, fishing, and all things wilderness, making Alaska, just as much as Colorado was, a home. One of the last decisions Jo made in her time her on earth (and taking a leaf out of her brother-in-law's book) was to ask Jesus Christ into her life as her Lord and Savior, so today we know for sure she is with Him in paradise. More than anything Jo loved her boys and would do anything for them. She spent her life finding what was best for them and connecting with and helping others. Jo was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend and it was clear that she was loved by many. When asked to sum up her life, she said, "I have lived a very full life and was blessed with healthy, happy children." A celebration of life for Jo Cooley will be held on August 29, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Viegut Funeral Home in Loveland. Reception immediately following funeral. We invite you to join us in celebrating her beautiful life. Go to www.viegutfuneralhome.com for condolences.
