Edward Roberts

Edward Roberts, age 97, of Loveland passed away on May 16, 2013. Ed was born on December 18, 1915 in Utica, NY. After high school he took a job at the Brooklyn Navy yard in New York City. When World War II broke out, he enlisted in the Navy and served aboard a destroyer in the South Atlantic. In June of 1944, his ship was reassigned to the coast of France to take part in the D-Day invasion. After the war, Ed attended Rider College in Trenton, NJ where he received a degree in Economics and Finance. He returned to Utica where he met and married Ellanora Kenny. He took a job as a Budget Analyst for the US Air Force in Rome, NY. In 1970 his job relocated to the Kansas City area where he and Ellanora lived until her death in 2005. In 2007 he moved to Loveland to be closer to family.

Ed had a great love of the outdoors and spent many years with the Tramp and Trail Club of Utica, NY, hiking, canoeing, camping and skiing in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York. He greatly enjoyed living out his final years in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains.

Ed served as a Deacon for many years at Full Faith Church of Love (now Crosspoints Church) in the Kansas City area and enjoyed attending Resurrection Fellowship in Loveland as well as Sunday services at Sterling House at the Orchards where he lived.

Ed is survived by a son and two grandsons in the Loveland/Fort Collins area, a daughter in California, and several nieces and nephews. No services are planned at this time.
