Gerladine McLaughlin

An angel has received her wings. Geraldine Mae Versluys McLaughlin was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother who was born in Marshall, MN where she also attended school. On August 23, 1944, she married the love of her life, Robert McLaughlin. Raising their family in Minnesota and then moving to Iowa, they loved dancing and playing cards. In 1971, they relocated to Loveland, CO to be near their family, enjoying camping and four-wheeling. Geraldine worked as a sales associate in the JC Penney's catalog department for 17 years and was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Her family always came first, and her grandchildren looked forward to her freshly baked cookies. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Robert of 69 years, her son, Lorrie (Janice) McLaughlin, and daughters, Marlene (Doug) Hunt and Maureen (Steve) Armfield all of Loveland, seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, brother, Joe Versluys, and sister, Diane Hunter, both of Moline, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Sadie Versluys, and brother, Jerry Versluys. The family extends our heartfelt thanks to Pathways Hospice for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Pathways Hospice in care of Viegut Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will take place at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 10th. Go to www.viegutfuneralhome.com for condolences.
