Jimmy John Santee

Jimmy John L. Santee, 56, of Loveland, Colorado, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2014 surrounded by his loving family in the home they built together. Jim was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa on September 15, 1957 to John and Ruby (Connie) Santee. He grew up in Bedford, Iowa and was a 1976 Bedford Bulldog graduate. Jim moved to Colorado in 1978. Shortly after, he met the love of his life, his "babe" Vicky Torres. They married after 9 short months and have spent the last 34 years together building a life of love and happiness. Jim's biggest accomplishment (and most expensive tools) were his two daughters, Jeanell Santee and Jaylee Santee-Wordell, and, one very special granddaughter named J.J. in his honor, Jenessa Jayda. She was the beat to his drum. He loved his four girls more than life itself. Jim was a passionate man who was best known as the "Energizer Bunny." He was full of life and was always living it to the fullest. He especially loved riding his Harley through the Rocky Mountains and on long road trips wherever the asphalt goes, camping, boating, and 4-wheeling in the outdoors, cooking for all, playing the drums and the guitar, and hosting parties in the custom barn that he built for all to enjoy. He worked as the Construction Manager for Con Agra for 28 years. It was there that he was able to use his desire for building and construction. He was a carpenter by trade and because of that, he was continuously building, remodeling, or customizing anything special for anyone he could. He loved to entertain and put a smile on your face. Most of all, Jim was an extremely caring man with bright blue eyes and a heart of gold. Jim is survived by his wife and best friend, Vicky; their two daughters, Jeanell (Jeff) and Jaylee (D.J.); granddaughter J.J.; father John Santee; brother Jerry Santee (Debbie); sister Judy Caulkins; mother-in-law Frances Torres; as well as, many loving brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Connie, his father-in-law Albino Torres, his grandparents, and great aunts and uncles. A celebration of Jim's life will begin on Monday, March 3, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Viegut Funeral Home, 1616 N. Lincoln Avenue, Loveland, CO. Rosary to follow at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 1730 W. 12th Street, Loveland, CO with burial at Greenlawn Cemetery, Berthoud, CO.
