John W. "Jack" Donahue, Jr., 80, of Loveland, CO, died on March 6, 2014 at Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland. He was born on May 8, 1933 in Dighton, MA to John William and Julia (Woodward) Donahue. Jack attended MIT and CU Boulder. He achieved the rank of Major while serving in the US Air Force during Vietnam where he earned 2 two bronze stars
and a flying cross for meritorious service. He also worked as an electrical engineer and project manager for NASA while participating in the Gemini Space Program. Jack has lived in Loveland since 1976, moving here from Hawaii. He was an avid hiker and enjoyed working out. He loved the Colorado Rockies, his children and his grandchildren. Jack is survived by his children, Bard Donahue and wife Katrina of Longmont, CO, Chalmer Donahue and wife Susan of Parker, CO, Haley Donahue of Loveland, Rhonda Bergh and husband Steve of Oregon, his stepmother, Margaret Donahue, sisters, Julia Rezendes, Constance Berdos, Margaret Cardello and Barbara Kaminski, all of Massachusetts, brothers, Paul Gallagher of Maine, and Joseph Gallager of Massachussetts, 13 nieces and nephews, 9 nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Chambers. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Kibbey Fishburn Funeral Home. Visitation will be held prior to the service. Cremation will take place. Memorial contributions may be made to National Jewish Health for I.P.F.
