Juanita Knapp-Boggs

Juanita Knapp Boggs, 81 of Alva, OK (formerly of Loveland) passed away July 31, 2013 in Enid, OK. Juanita was born on June 24, 1932 in Fort Collins, CO to Jose F. Gonzales and Mary LaBadie Gonzales. She attended Holy Family Catholic School in Fort Collins. In 1953, she moved to California where she met her sweetheart and was swept off her feet by Lowell Knapp. They were married on August 3, 1954 in Las Vegas. While in California, Juanita studied photography and was a home-worker for an import/export company which allowed her to be home with her children. Juanita also learned the ins and outs of running a butcher shop with her husband. In 1967, the Knapps returned to Fort Collins. It was in Fort Collins that Juanita became a serious competitive bowler. She held several records in Northern Colorado and traveled throughout the nation winning several bowling tournaments and top prizes. In 1997, Juanita married Willard Boggs in Loveland, CO. They made their home in Alva, OK where she enjoyed gardening and playing bingo. Juanita enjoyed music and social media. She loved staying connected to her family and friends. In 1997 Juanita also began a valiant fight against breast cancer and won. She was a breast-cancer survivor. Juanita loved her family. She is survived by her husband Willard Boggs; a daughter, Bobbie (Lou) Rivera; her sons Jim (Debbie) Knapp and Jerry (Theresa) Knapp. Grandchildren: Jalaine Rivera; Michelle Knapp; Brian (Allison) Rivera; Ricky (Daffie) Knapp; Jeff (Tabitha) Knapp; Amber Knapp (Cody); Dustin (Sarah) Knapp; AJ Knapp (Carolle); Ashley Knapp, and Lowell Knapp. Juanita has 19 great grandchildren, numerous great-great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. A brother Ray (Elva) Gonzales and sister-in-law Anna (Joe) Gonzales. Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, husband Lowell Knapp, son Richard (Cheryl) Knapp, brothers Joe F. and Manuel Gonzales and a sister, Joanna Gonzales. Rosary services led by her son Jerry Knapp and daughter-in-law Theresa will be held on Wednesday evening, August 7, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at Viegut Funeral Home, 1616 N Lincoln Avenue, Loveland, CO 80538 The funeral service (mass) will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, 1250 7th St, Windsor, CO 80550 (Corner of 7th Street and Eastman Park Drive) Reception at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church following interment at Resthaven
