Robert Garvey(1944 - 2014)

Robert M. Garvey of Windsor died July 10, 2014 in Loveland, CO. He was born January 23, 1944 in Pueblo, CO to Edgar and Edna Garvey. Robert Graduated from Southern Colorado State College in Pueblo and completed graduate work at Arizona State University. He joined the US Army in 1967, he became a First Lt. Robert was an Intelligence Officer until his honorable discharge in 1973. He then went to work at the Pentagon in Washington DC as a Financial Analyst from 1973 to 1996 and later moved to Northern CO in 1998 to be near his family. He loved all kinds of music by taking lessons on the piano as well as the tenor and alto saxophones. He played tenor sax with the Northern Colorado New Horizons Band until 2007. Robert had a green thumb and enjoyed flowers. He is preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his sister Mary Schaffer and husband Bill of Loveland; nieces Natalie Schaffer of Severance, CO and Elizabeth Schaffer Griggs (Swift) of Aurora, CO. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, 2:00 P.M. at Viegut Funeral Home. Memorials may be sent to the Northern Colorado New Horizons Band c/o Viegut Funeral Home.
