Kent Wilson, 65 of Fort Collins, formerly of Loveland, CO, died January 4, 2013 at his home. A casual celebration of Kent 's life will be held Wednesday, January 9th, 2013 at the Backbone Special Event Center, 1720 Glade Road in Loveland at 2:00 p.m.. Walter Kent Wilson was born December 18, 1947 in Colby, Kansas to Wayne and Dallas Wilson. He grew up in Winona, KS prior to his family moving to Loveland in 1959. He graduated from Loveland High School in 1966. He worked for many years with his dad remodeling houses. He owned and operated Fireside Motel and RV Park in Loveland for many years and owned a trailer sales business while living in Tonganoxie, KS. In 2008, coming back to Colorado, he took a job as property manager with Sunflower Active Adult Community in Fort Collins. Kent was an avid NASCAR (and MOPAR/Dodge) Fan as well as being a lifelong NRA member. He collected over 100 die cast model NASCAR cars. One of his fondest memories was hanging out at his buddy Bob's (Loveland Ready-Mix) shop arguing Chrysler over Ford. Kent is survived by his fiancée, Sandy Inman; a daughter, Kimberly Wilson of Las Vegas ; three sisters, Kerry Date and husband Fred of Loveland, Jeanette Gfeller of Russell, KS and Nancy Miller of Lake Havasu, AZ; a sister-in-law, Jeannette Wilson of Tahlequah, OK; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Nick and Walter "Buddy" Wilson. He requested that, in lieu of flowers, a donation please be made to victoryjunction.org
