Walter Town

Walter Benton Town of Loveland Co. went home to be with the Lord on 25 September 2013. Walter was born September 25, 1925 in Buffalo, NY to Cecil and Annie Town. His education cumulated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Tufts University. Mr. Town worked as a chemist in the medical field, in 1952 Mr. Town working at Lederle Laboratories isolated a material that brought about the remission of arthritic symptoms. His work was published in Medical Hypotheses (July-August 1978). He married Janice M. Town 0n 26 Oct. 1973 they were married 40 years. Mr. Town retired from Miles Corporation in 1981. He moved to Colorado and attended Marilyn Hickey Bible College in 1984. Mr. Town is survived by his wife Janice Town, and children Jeff Town of Tampa, FL, Dave and Paige Town of Newport Richie FL, Cindy and Ken Nelson of Germantown WI, Steve Town of Texas, Rick and Jessica Ferguson of Atoka TN, Jeff and Tricia Ferguson of Mt. Erie. Mr. Town had 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Mr. Town was an avid Green Bay Packers and Boston Red Sox fan. Mr. Town took up running marathons in the early 70's and completed the Boston Marathon in 1971 and the Hurley Marathon in 1972. Mr. Town was a U.S. Navy veteran during World War Two. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 4, 2013 at 2:00pm, Viegut Funeral Home. Interment will be held Monday, October 7, 2013, 11:15am, staging area "C" at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver. Go to www.viegutfuneralhome.com for condolences.
