William "Bill" Sullivan

William (Bill) Sullivan of Loveland passed away on November 24, 2012. He was born March 1, 1936 in Albion, Nebraska to Edward B. and Leola C. Sullivan. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 - 1958 aboard the USS Frontier. On April 11th, 1959, he married Verena Lyon in Dodge City, Kansas. In 1968, Bill relocated his family from South Dakota to Loveland for a position with T & T Tire. He then went on to work for Garrett Motors and later took a position in the Fire and Security Department of Eastman Kodak. He ended his career building fire trucks at Super Vac. Bill was a volunteer firefighter for the Loveland Fire Dept. for 17 years and continued his involvement with the Loveland Fire Exhibit at the Loveland Museum. He also was an active member with the Rocky Mountain Plymouth Car Club. Bill enjoyed the life of retirement and traveling with family and friends and also loved working on his and other's classic vehicles. He also enjoyed spending time at the family cabin. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. He is survived by his loving wife, Verena; children, Doug (Cressa) Sulllivan, David Sullivan (Sandy McPherson), Kent (Susan) Sullivan, Mark Sullivan, Peggy (Jeff) Nielsen, Janelle (Merle) Maring and Jennifer Williams; mother-in-law, Myrtle Lyon; brothers, Phelan Sullivan, Jerry (Alice) Sullivan, Don (Peg) Sullivan and Jim Sullivan; a sister, Marguerite Hoelscher; brother-in-law, Mike Volk; 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Thursday, followed by the Recitation of the Rosary at Resthaven Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Friday at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment at Resthaven Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Loveland Fire Exhibit Inc. in care of Resthaven.
