Albert B. Chenoweth, age 90, May 21, 1922 - April 9, 2013 Albert B. Chenoweth (Al) was born in 1922 in Trinidad, Colorado. He was the youngest child of Jacob W. and Minnie Chenoweth and nephew of J. Edgar Chenoweth, former Colorado U.S. Congressman. After graduating from Trinidad High School in 1940, Al enlisted in the
where he fought in World War II in the pacific theatre. When the war ended, he returned to Trinidad where he married Margaret Wakefield in 1947. After 62 years of marriage, Margaret pre-deceased him in August 2009. Al began a long career at Colorado Interstate Gas Company (CIG) in the late 1940's, moving to Pueblo in 1954. Al started as a machinist and was eventually promoted to Shop Superintendent. He retired from CIG July 1, 1985 after working 38 years with the company. He and Margaret then enjoyed many years of retirement including a cabin in Cuchara, Colorado and numerous trips with family and friends. Al was a beloved father and "Papa" to his grandchildren. He and Margaret had three children: Dan (Georgia) of Loveland, David (Janice) of Pueblo, and Johnof Durango. In addition, Al leaves a legacy of five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. A celebration of Al's life will be held at Montgomery & Steward Funeral Home in Pueblo, services pending. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the
