Bryan Sennett Obituary
Bryan M. Sennett, 71 of Loveland died on September 7, 2011 in Loveland after a challenging battle with Lewy Body Dementia. He was born March 14, 1940 in Scottsbluff, NE, to Ivan L. and Maxine L. Sennett. The family moved to Loveland in 1943 where he was raised and graduated from Loveland High School in 1958. While in high school Bryan worked summers as a wrangler for Vogel's Glacier Lodge in Estes Park and had his first singing engagements. He went on to obtain his bachelor's degree from CU Boulder. He married Gayle Thorpe in 1963 in Boulder and celebrated 48 years of marriage in July. While at CU he founded The Newport Singers. The group moved to New York City and later became the Serendipity Singers. They appeared on national television and toured worldwide. After performing, Bryan went in to management in the music business, residing in New York City, Greenwich, CT, and Katonah, NY. In 1974 Bryan joined his father in the family business, Sennett Realty, where he worked for the remainder of his career. He was named Realtor Rookie of the Year and in 1980 was president of the Loveland Board of Realtors. Bryan was a member of the Loveland-Berthoud Realtors Association and Loveland Sertoma Club. He was instrumental in raising funds for the Rialto Theater restoration and for creation of the Benson Sculpture Park, and was a founding board member of the Loveland High Plains Art Council. Bryan enjoyed writing music, playing guitar and singing. His sense of humor and love of music will be missed. Bryan is survived by his wife, Gay; his son Darin and wife Nancy Whitmore and grandchildren Miles and Lucy of Portland, OR; his daughter Shannon and granddaughter Sawyer Quinn Sennett of Seattle, WA; sister Sherry Rytting of Estes Park, two nieces, one nephew, ten great nieces and nephews, and The Coffee Group. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Brent Rytting, and dog Max. A memorial service will take place at Allnutt Funeral Service, 2100 N. Lincoln Ave, Loveland on Thursday, September 15th at 2pm, reception to follow at The Garden Room, 697 N. Denver Ave, Suite 100, Loveland. Memorial contributions can be made in Bryan's honor to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, Loveland High Plains Arts Council or the Rialto Theater in care of Allnutt Funeral Service.
